High-calorie liquids - such as fancy coffee drinks, milk shakes, soda, fruit juice, creamy soups, and alcoholic drinks - slip right through your Gastric Band.
You don’t get the sensation of fullness in your pouch that sends signals to your brain that it’s time to stop eating.
But you do get extra calories (sometimes in the hundreds) that can derail all your hard work on weight-loss.
Try to avoid liquid calories, and drink alcohol in moderation.
For example, one glass of wine or light beer per day, on weekends only or special occasions only.
